| Posted: 29 Jul 2008 03:46 AM CDT FAK3, which is pronounced "FAKE", a well known design firm in Asia, are well known for their edgier and fresh designs. In a recent home design project, the owners of the home requested that FAK3 create for them a central, multifunctional area that would allow for varying activities such as dining, study, as well as entertainment. With those ideas, FAK3 created an elliptical cabinet that rotates 360 degrees. On the longer widths of the cabinet, there is housed a desk on one side and a place for the owner's son's electronic keyboard. On the shorter ends, you can find storage as well as a TV console. The 360 can be rotated with only the push of a finger, while creating an ever-changing ambiance to each segment of the home. Designer: FAK3

| Don’t Panic! But always have a towel Posted: 28 Jul 2008 03:28 PM CDT Those of you familiar with Douglas Adams will always heed his immortal warning. I suppose designer Ran Shnaper (not a Hitchiker’s character) understood these words when designing his/her design the “Towel Dish Dryer”. Intended to be used when you run out dryer rack space, this design used a standard towel that drapes over a flexible/adjustable rack frame creating an instant extension to your current drip dry technique. “Thanks for all the fish…” Designer: Ran Shnaper
Texts from the designer: The Towel Dish Dryer is made up of a towel that is installed on a water-resistant, metal frame that allows the user to alter its form to fit the dishes that will be put for drying. The frame allows multiple form transformations in endless ways. The Towel Dish Dryer comes with a set of three towels, in either one or various colours (according to the clients wish), which can be changed by taking one off the frame for washing and putting another one on. When not in use, the towels can be used as regular towels.

| A round of paper cuts on the house… Posted: 28 Jul 2008 12:25 PM CDT It’s Monday and what better time to argue about “what is design and what isn’t” than today? Let me give you all some good ammunition to start with. This is called “One Drink Cup” by Mikhail Stawsky. This person has taken paper folding to new highs with this fold-it-yourself shot glass design. Get it “new highs”? “shot glass”?… yeah, I’m not laughing either.
