Sinkie Bronzie

Posted: 05 Feb 2010 02:03 AM PST

So you fancy yourself a sink aficionado, yes? Well take a quick peek at these right here. They’re totally bronze. All new, all wild. All designed by Domain Industries, Inc., makers of sinks. The sinks you see in this post are all part of a new grouping by DI called Santa Fe Bronze, and it’s all aimed at fusing a rare, rustic feel to traditional design elements usually found in your everyday sink. Get all rusty on ya without the rust!

All of this is very rugged. The bronze collection here uses elements usually seen in natural pools, especially places that’d normally be the colors you’re experiencing at this very moment. All of these sinks have been hand-crafted in Domain Industries’ bronze foundry (wish I had one of those), all of them sporting superior casting technology and a guarantee that only the top performing raw materials are used.

After installation these sinks require only easy care and maintenance, which is more than worth it considering the amount of looks and such you’re gonna get with such a crazy amazing water-holder.

Glance at these beautiful monsters!

Lights Are Upon You

Posted: 05 Feb 2010 01:31 AM PST

Go on, brush your shoulders off. You’d better be clean when those big ol’ stage lights get a’blarin on you. Those barn doors are wide open, and you’re sweating bullets! But these aren’t them, no! We’re talking about something different. These are the beautiful, home version of lights used for stage plays or photography. These are called “Lutz” lights, or die scheinwerfer! And they’re coming to a home studio near you!

These babies were made by David Oelschlägel to be living-room versions of the lights used in films, transforming them into what amounts to a metal frame, semi-translucent black material, and a lightbulb. Made to see the lovely structure as it shines, made to make you feel just glamourous!

Red fabric coated flex and two red adjusting screws for flair!

Printouts In A Jiffy, Anywhere

It was about time that someone came up with this, I mean we are in the portable era! Stick POP is a portable printer that can handle a small amount of load. You can't overburden it with all your documents, just a small stash that you need pronto. Measuring 23 cm by 6 cm, it's easy to fit it in your handbag. Just hook it up to your comp /device via USB and get printing! Oh, and an OLED screen on the bar displays the printing status.

Squids and Seashells For My Faucet

Posted: 05 Feb 2010 01:00 AM PST

I know this sounds very funny but what can I say… the aQuatica Faucet has been inspired by sea creatures. Honestly, it does resemble a mini sculpture when not in use and expands elaborately to become this work-of-art faucet. A dramatic departure from the drab ones we see off the shelf, but I promise you…the cleaning lady's not gonna like cleaning this!

Into The Dark

That’s where most tablet-like designs guessing at the look and specs of what’s now revealed to be the iPad. But I say to you in great defiance: not this one! This one shall gather a bit of light still! It was conceived before that faithful unveiling day, and its ideas shall be carried on until fruition! I give to you this! The MacView, as designed by Patrycjusz Brzezinski, queller of the hoards of maddened Apple fans.

Oh Brzezinski, you sly one you, how did you think of a device so close to what became the iPad, yet so very much more better?

That sentence was just terrible!

Let’s get to the specs of this MacView:

A thickness of just 7mm.
A 1152×720 LED touchscreen display.
Dimensions of 15 x 24 cm.
An additional SLIDE PANEL that can be used as a keyboard.
Light and sturdy outer carbon shell.
Wifi.
Bluetooth.
4GB of RAM.
1TB SSD.
Full OSX operating system.

And what is this? Is this something that’s invented for the iPad to rest in? Nay! It is invented by Brzezinski for the MacView! It’s a dock that makes the pad into a regular ol’ desktop computer. Mark my words you’ll be seeing these sorts of docks SOON on the secondary market once the iPad is actually on the market.

I don’t like to be quick to judge* *most of the time but I’m definitely for this design over the iPad at the moment. That extra sliding pad underneath would add loads of functionality, not to mention a bit more physical security for the whole device. But then again, all else aside – why again would I want to trade my old MacBook for one of these? The answer to that should be obvious, shouldn’t it?

Because it is NEW!

Coz I’m In A Mushy Mood

Posted: 05 Feb 2010 12:01 AM PST

At YD we are getting all charged up about Valentines, Ah! We are the lovable bunch, how else do you think our multi-cultural team would survive! And here's the perfect example of how we should be spreading our love….by sharing our music! Music in Love Audio Splitter is cute coz it's in the predictable Heart-Shape! The splitter is designed with one jack connecting to a MP3 player, and two other ports for 3.5mm head phone jacks.

Hook up more splitters to collectively listen to music, however that would really look weird! So if there's plenty of you, just hook the music source via the splitter to some speakers instead! What a way to spread LOVE!
