Awesome Cuteness In A Cup

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 03:58 AM PST

On the lookout for something super cute, delicate yet functional to add to your walls? I've found you the right stuff! Hookmaker Teacups add grace where it is lacking; it holds your knickknacks and trinkets, and has a hook for you to hang your keys. I'd like to hang a bunch of these together, just for their dramatic effect.

Crank Up Some Lights This Time

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 03:25 AM PST

You do recollect the Crank Up Battery, right? Close on heels to that concept is this Eco – Twinkle Light. Just like how you would crank up the battery or simply sharpen a pencil, you rotate Twinkle's handle to charge it up. Twinkling fairy lights with loads of imaginary fairy dust, sparkle up this gem of an idea!

Colors For Cooking

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 03:05 AM PST

Coral is this elegant pan that you can use for cooking and serving, but unlike the rest of the gang, this one comes coated with thermochromic spots. The pale blue dots turn into bright orange beauties, as the temperature of the pot increases. The handles on the pan comes off easily, thanks to the plug-spring system used. This ways you get to cook safely and efficiently and then slide off the pan-handle and serve right away!

“People recognize the kitchen as the soul of the house, from the pans, pots and casseroles the aromas and unique flavors will give a hint of its host. It is the beginning of a meeting or a party or a simple family warmth.”

Grilly Willy

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 12:10 AM PST

Yes! This is a grill by one of the longest-winded design team names in the business, or at least that I’ve ever seen: Liebschaften Möbelgestaltung. They’ve made this lovely little grill and have titled it “Longgrill.” It’s the missing link between grill and fire bowl! One simple slider’s all it took, all it takes, all it will take when you’re out camping like a real trooper!

In response to those who wish to be free of their decision between a blaze and a glow, designers at Liebschaften Möbelgestaltung have conjured this magnificent amalgamation. Barbecue and start things on fire, all at the same time!

The top frame slides easily, as I’m sure you can see. The carrier is made of scaled steel, the grill is made of stainless steel, and the fire bowl sits upon three basalt stones.

Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to justify to your significant other.

Minimalistic Water Pipe

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 12:05 AM PST

We’re in an age of utter simplicity. This is what is good, this is what is right in design. Design something that works and something that is bare down to the bones, and you’ve got something beautiful. Design a simple and functional water pipe, and you’ve got a real winner! This horizontal Middle Eastern water pipe is the first product in the “White” series of simplicity by TRIBUDESIGN. Such a lovely aesthetic!

In a product that’s normally stored away and aside is a new standard, one that fits in with the rest of the kitchenware. In this pipe is stainless steel, hand stitched leather, and natural acrylic stone.

This “White” series of products is done in order to both innovate and preserve. This pipe is made with acrylic stone and stainless steel to make it more hygienic, making is considerably less dangerous to the users health due to the subtraction of the materials traditionally used.

20 months of development, a set of customized tools and molds later, and we’ve got the most modern water pipe in the world: water pipe “A.”

In white.

To be distributed by Airdiem.

Cups for Conscience

Posted: 13 Nov 2009 12:01 AM PST

I always enjoy a good cup of facts! What have a just drunk? You should always ask yourself that. Or what have I got the opportunity to drink, here? You’d be wiser to ask. Our pal Hans A Huseklepp teams up with two other designers to bring you this lovely set of ceramic tableware for Milan Expo 2015. Facts of the world.

This series of cups and such are called “Wake Up.” Huseklepp worked with fellow designers Karl Sjöstrøm and Henning R. Nielsen to serve you some brain sustenance.

Each container symbolizes a statistic explaining the inequality present in the world today. In the difference in height between each cup and plate is shown the difference between the rich and the poor, the fortunate and the destitute. Developed in cooperation with Vecchio Lodi Ceramics in Lombardia, Italy.

Made locally to inspire people to act globally.

Going On A Carbon Diet

Posted: 12 Nov 2009 12:10 PM PST

Eco2 Widget is a mobile and desktop app to get your carbon eating habits under control. Sure you don’t gain weight from carbon but you do harm the Earth and we all agree – the Earth is in dire need of a carbon diet. Like all diets, it requires a lifestyle change. The Eco2 widget not only monitors carbon affluents between all your devices but also educations and recommends little things you could do to help Earth get slimmer cleaner. There’s even a reward system built-in for digital money and to plant trees.

Powered By Trash

Posted: 12 Nov 2009 12:00 PM PST

A lamppost powered by trash seems like a strange idea but if you think about the ratio between city trash and energy needs – things start to make sense, kinda. This lamppost composts trash and uses the methane byproduct as a fuel to power the lamps. The compost can then be retrieved to re-green our cities. I like the idea but it’s not clear how much trash is needed to keep such a system going.
