Posted: 24 Jun 2009 05:49 AM PDT I'm not testing the waters here and neither I'm some Sigmund Freud, but being a woman I think I can sum up some spectacular ID stuff that will appeal to my ilk. An attempt to solve the mystery of "What Women Want"; Tough job but someone's got to do it. So it may as well be me! 10) Love Seat Toilet by Amigo Zhou This loveseat loo screams fetish, but I'm sure it must appeal to some sections of the society. What can I say…I'm Monica I do crazy stuff! This fashion statement merits mention on YD simply for its practical usage. The clever convertible sweater/scarf design made of 100% Merino wool is ideal for the fickle minded ladies, which I'm sure means ALL. 8 ) EIN/TRITT Shoe Concept by Catherine Meuter Ok Jimmy Choo you can buy, but most women want the unattainable, like a pair of kitsch concept shoes. 7) Stolen Jewels by Mike and Maaike Geeky Jewel Haven! Although on printed and scored leather, this kinda jewelry appeals for its exclusive one-of-a-kind manufacturing. Warning to men: Don't you dare think of replacing the diamonds with this! 6) Samsonite Black Label by Alexander McQueen Samsonite may not be LV, but when the luggage pieces are as elegant as this collection by Alexander McQueen, then who needs the big daddy! 5) Samsung SGH-E500 by Hyejeong Lee, Sooyoung Hwang, Sunyoung Lee & Jiyun Park Women are not going to want this phone unless they can get their nails done the exact way as the models'. Kidding, but the elegant leather finish of this Sammy scores high in my eyes! 4) Killer Diamond Engagement Ring by Tobias Wong I did warn you that Diamonds are a girls' best friend. So if you rub your woman the wrong way, do expect a Wong Punch from her! The razor-sharp diamond point in this ring is set to face upwards; wicked wicked! 3) Music Powered Vibrator by OhMiBod Prudes please leave the room; the rest can carry on reading. Actually nothing much to say here! Like it or not, women do need the ultimate iPod acsexsory once in a while. 2) Technogym - Kinesis Personal Fitness Equipment by Antonio Citterio Women often crib about their battle with the bulge and I think the most dreaded question to a man has to be; "Honey, am I looking fat in this?" Guys don't even think of answering affirmative to that question. If you feel she needs a workout, get her Kinesis Personal and say that you got it so that the two of you could workout together. If you say its only for her, then brace yourself for the Wong Punch! 1) Skin Jewelry by Ines de Castilho Most men are going to label this as just waste of money, but trust me body art and temporary bling like this looks awesome. Although I haven't sampled Swarovski appliqués by Ines, I am captivated by their intricate patterns. Body art like this can make a women feel sexy and ALIVE! |
Posted: 24 Jun 2009 01:03 AM PDT It is only every few years that a new hand-held video game system gets invented. They keep getting smaller, having better graphics, and being basically the same amount of weird and bulky to carry with. What Wilson Song was tasked with doing was making a gamer that not only utilized the best in chips for graphics, but also stored a pen, earbuds, and had the ability to become smaller for easy carrying. Peel and see! What a pretty looking little system we have here! Wilson Song this is just what I’d be using if it were real! The “Samsung WM” has earbuds and pen that clip intuitively into the back panel, a giant screen, and the ability to be tossed on the wrist like one of those slap-bracelets from the 1980s. The controls work with new motion-capture technology and a camera in the back to see what precisely your thumbs and feet are up to. And it’ made of gold! Or regular materials. Designer: Wilson Song |
Wear Spunky Glasses To Combat Fear Posted: 24 Jun 2009 12:02 AM PDT In case you don't know what Social Phobia is, hit this link to see relevant details. For the impatient: social anxiety is the third largest psychological problem in the US and no, it doesn't mean that the person suffering from it is mentally ill. All socially anxious people feel that their thoughts and fears are basically irrational. Visual Veracity Series consists of 3 pair of glasses to help such people cope with social situations that intimidate them. Each pair of glasses is designed for a specific social phobia. The Glasses: The first pair use’s wide angled mirrors to allow the user to view everything around them. Through this it also aims to challenge what people perceive as acceptable in public space. The second pair allows the user to easily ignore any form of confrontation. It also aims to subvert the idea of design to encourage social interaction but to actually discourage it. The third and final pair deals with the fear of eating in public places. By using prism mirrors it allows the user to see only what is on their lap. It blocks out everything else from view other than that of the prism mirrors. Designer: Scott Tweeddale |
Everybody Mamba! with Bonus Crocodile! Posted: 24 Jun 2009 12:01 AM PDT So what have we got here? Looks like a pretty neat chair and… a crocodile! What! Oh it’s a chest. It’s four chests! Made for children, painted green, textured on the sides to look like the lovely, cute animal from children’s nightmare dreams. And then there’s the chair! It’s made of minimalism. It’s black. It’s made for private and public. Together they are pretty good friends from the same furniture set. You’ve gotta check these two out. Notice that they’re made by the same group: La Mamba. It’s a strange design world we live in where a design group both works for several different clients as well as for their own portfolio. In that way, these Mamba design dancers make a set out of this crocodile chest and this “deconstructionism” chair, as they put it. Take a peek! Then look at the rest of their wonderful furniturism on La Mamba’s very own set of strangeties at their very own online portfolio supersite http://www.lamamba.es/ Designer: La Mamba |
Posted: 24 Jun 2009 12:00 AM PDT A shopping bag is a bag and nothing more, unless you peak it up with some special effects. Regenesi's Fruit Bag's claim to fame is the ingenious use of reclaimed leather, specially sourced from Salamander. The smooth marriage of Italian flamboyance and Japanese practicality is evident in the characteristics of the shopper. Comfortable handles that sit easy on the shoulders and a series of internal pockets render it functional and secure. Because it uses regenerated leather, the bag guarantees durability, color resistance both to light and rubbing and a smooth surface. Dimensions: Length cm. 30 x Height cm. 35 x Width cm. 10 The material: The regenerated leather produced by Salamander is entirely made of natural raw materials: genuine leather fibers tanned with vegetal substances, natural latex (extracted from rubber plants), water, natural fats and natural coloring agents and salts. Designers: Setsu & Shinobu Ito for Regenesi |
