Spices That Defy Gravity

Posted: 14 Oct 2009 04:03 AM PDT

Come summer and most rural Indian women gather in courtyards to pound heaps of fresh herbs and spices to store in huge glass jars. Urbanization and instant foods have thankfully spared me the trouble, but where to store my good? Zero Gravity Magnetic Spice Rack & Magnetic Spice Stand looks to be an apt solution. With 12 airtight canisters and easy one-handed operation, the jars defy GRAVITY in a very unique way! More info ahead…

Zero Gravity Magnetic Spice Rack is a wall mounted horizontal rack that holds 12 spice canisters comfortably; 6 of which defy gravity and hang upside down thanks to their magnetic base. Likewise the Zero Gravity Magnetic Spice Stand is a vertical thang that hold the canisters front and back, again defying GRAVITY!

Glass slots on the side of each canister lets peek into the contents instantly, but for the fetish-freaky-Virgos, Labels are also there!

Perfect solution to de-clutter a crowded kitchen.

What A Block Of Light!

Posted: 14 Oct 2009 03:03 AM PDT

The Block Lamp has been around for a while but I bet you didn't know about its unique features. Each part of the block lamp was hand casted, then goes into an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking when exposed to strong temperature changes. Awesome right! Even the matte bulb is sand-blasted for durability, and for once it's a design that comes with the light bulb included! How thoughtful!

2 O2s and I Breath Right

Posted: 14 Oct 2009 12:02 AM PDT

So you’ve got the sort of condition where you need oxygen. I mean more oxygen than normal. I mean oxygen in a way that you’ve got to get it in the tube through your nose basically constantly. What do you do? You rely on out-dated “just fix it” type solutions that have little regard for the limits they create that you shouldn’t have to face. What do you do? You holster up a couple packs of O2 and be right on your way with this fabulous device right here: “Plus O2!”

What designer Shelly Rubenstein has done here is to create a new solution for everyday living for people who require medical oxygen. It’s made of three parts: the holster, the tanks, and the cannula (little tube you feed in through the nose.)

Everything is fully adjustable. Size of tank, rate of oxygen use (LPM,) ability to switch from liquid oxygen to solid oxygen when it becomes more widely available.*

*Real deal!

Liquid oxygen is already used as an oxidant in rockets, and it has been speculated that red oxygen could make an even better oxidant, because of its higher energy density. — Wiki siting naturenews

The Spruce Whale

A futuristic flying marvel the likes of which have never been seen! The WB-1010 is a concept plane made to make use of yet-to-be-invented materials and technology and aims to meet the demands the world 85 years from now will make. Speed, comfort, and space for a whole lot of people, that’s what this is all about. You’re in for a real treat of shocking and splendidly fantastic conceptual technology in one notorious BIG future plane!

The WB-1010 (stands for Wright Brothers) is an official entry into the current KLM Indonesia aircraft design competition. It’s purely a concept plane using technology that might be feasible in the future, but right now lies in the mind of the inventor. You know what that means! Conceptual Facts time!

It can seat more than 1500 people!

It can reach speeds of nearly 1000 kmph!

It’s made of materials similar to GLARE (”GLAss-REinforced” Fibre Metal Laminate (FML)), composed of several very thin layers of metal (usually aluminium) interspersed with layers of glass-fibre “pre-preg”, bonded together with a matrix such as epoxy. — thank you WIKI — similar to that used on the Airbus A380 (another gigantic plane I bet you might be aware of already)!

It has helium injected in the body to make the plane lighter!

It’s windows are made of “Smart Glass!”

It will be able to harvest wind energy in flight!

It has a super jet that will allow the plane to land on a normal runway or completely vertically!

Amazing super fantastic!

*Special BONUS actual real facts that have already happened in the past: the original “Spruce Goose” (Hughes H-4 Hercules, completed 1947) was built almost entirely of laminated birch, not spruce as its nickname suggests and at the time of this post STILL has the largest wingspan and height of any aircraft in history

Sittin Around on Shrooms!

Yes, the “Mustool,” exactly the seat you need to build your Streets of Amsterdam themed bar and grill around. Or perhaps the psychedelic masterpiece Heavy Metal is more your mushroomy pleasure? Or perhaps you’re in the mood for Alice in Wonderland? That’s what designer Gray Goh Szjin had in mind when these fungus among-us type chairs came drifting between the ears.

Pure Wonderland, that’s where these come from, you betcha. Gray Goh Szjin describes the cuteness of Alice once she’s small enough to sit upon items she’d have crushed in her huge days. Cuteness for all! Fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus and very nice-on-the-bottom seat!

Two Holes Are Better Than One

A small annoyance of mine is having to wait for a sauce or dressing like ketchup to trickle down from the bottom but with the Dual Bottle, my impatience is alleviated. A simple solution would be to always leave the bottle inverted, but I’m way too OCD for that. With the Dual Bottle, there’s no up or down. Just open the end where the condiment goodness is closest to and BOOM (ala Steve Jobs style), food is smothered.

P.S. Yes there is a smaller version for dry condiments but that made less sense to me since gravity does just fine with standard bottles.
