Here's where the concept of the Wind Up Battery steps in; re-charge these cells via the conventional battery charger OR use the hand-crank to wind up and source-up some juice. Kinda like your hand-crank radios. A simply superb concept! Designer: Qian Jiang |
Posted: 05 Oct 2009 12:01 AM PDT Sometimes “long term parking” is another way of saying “your bike got jacked” - not this time though, this is a much better deal. It’s a bike rack concept, but better than that, it’s a long term bike rack, including safe storage, WC, showers, and lounge. This is precisely what a city like Minneapolis is starving for. I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I can say without hesitation that this is a bike town. It’s a big city, one of two within miles of eachother, (we’re called the “Twin Cities,” perhaps you’ve heard of us,) full of bikes. Having stations like this instead of congested rails alongside coffee shops stunk up with the sweat of long-run armpits, well, that’d be great! Especially between outlying areas and the big city center. Read below for a little bit more info and ask questions! The designer of this project, Yinnon Lehrer, is watching, and I bet answers would be given upon request. Designer: Yinnon Lehrer |
Posted: 05 Oct 2009 12:00 AM PDT To understand Iz you need some background: the Turks love this drink called Ayran or Airan, which is blended yogurt and water. They make it in a special kind of way, and as poetic as it may seem, using the Iz leaves a flower pattern on the user's palm. The steel body of the cocktail maker is complimented with a blue intricate-pattern elastomer seal. To use it, simply pour in the ingredients and seal the blender. A few good pumps to the top part with your palm effectively churns the contents (using spring action) and leaves a flower indent on your palm. With the help of the strainer fitted in the neck of the Iz, airan is filtered and purified from its cream. I think the Iz is a pretty versatile design and can be used to churn out some pretty heavy-duty cocktails. Say what…would you use this to churn out some Bloody Marys? Posted: 05 Oct 2009 12:00 AM PDT The innovative factor about the Foodle is that it brings oodles of fun to doodling on the dinner table. The set consists of fork, knife and spoon heads that fit snugly over color pencils, and a pad of paper placemats that double up as a doodle board. I've seen placemats as puzzle games in family restaurants, but the Foodle goes a step ahead to include a creative cutlery design to make a complete package deal. Good enough for the home and the next door diner as well. Designer: Peter Dalton |
