Gorgeous Helen

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 06:06 AM PDT

Helen is Gorgeous and who am I to dispute that! Whoever said women are jealous of each other and can never praise each other's beauty…..ermmm was right! The only reason why I praise Gorgeous Helen is coz she's not an actual person, but a set of lampshades for your wine glasses. Wicked me! Anyway, this creative piece of parchment shade comes in 3 different styles: illuminating imprints of pleats, pearls and fringes. Light up some candles in the glasses and team them with these shades to make an impression!

Eco Friendly Aston Martin Volare Concept

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 01:50 AM PDT

The transition to more eco-friendly vehicles is relatively easy for mass volume vehicles but what about luxury manufacturers? How can they maintain their luxe and driving appeal while embracing the new “green”? The Aston Martin Volare proposes an easy fix by adopting fuel cells. The stacks are located in the front while the tanks are stored in the rear above the car’s axle - perfect weight distribution.

I like the idea but saying a vehicle will be powered by fuel cells is almost a no brainer. It’s been done so I just wished this concept offered a little something more than Vantage DNA. The proportions are slightly tweaked with much crisper shoulder lines and a floating rear deck but it’s not enough. In fact the rear looks almost Scandinavian. All in all, good idea.

Gadget Friendly Hotel End Tables

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 01:34 AM PDT

I’m loving these End Table Charging stations by designer Spencer Schimel. It makes total sense. Travelers usually come equipped with loads of power hungry doodads and trying to find a plug to charge them all is a hassle. These tables have built in induction charging plates to juice up any portable device with a lithium ion battery. They even come with a cool touchscreen clock. Meh, I could do without it. I just want the table.

No Need To Unplug

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 12:22 AM PDT

Keep getting to slammed for not switching off the mains or unplugging your gadgets? It's not that people are reckless or unconcerned about the environment, but sometimes simple and easy things like this becomes too much of an effort. So should we mop around for allowing Stand-By Power to contribute to almost 11% of our monthly electricity bill? No ways, we should endorse cool innovations like the "Power Socket SWITCH" and live happily ever after!

Sounds from Behind

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 12:01 AM PDT

This is the strangest audio device I believe I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s just bizarre. It’s called the “Asspeaker” and it’s probably not for your average home. The main unit is the subwoofer and the control station. The smaller units are speakers and connect to the controller through bluetooth technology, they work as single cheek units and can be connected to store as one small butt. To activate the unit, one must tap the unit.

Tap the main unit to turn the speakers on. Once tapped, the unit shows that it’s received the command with a small red light (kind of like what happens when a cheek is smacked). This light goes away after three seconds. Rubbing the unit on either cheek in a circular motion turns the sound up (rotating right), and turns the sound down (rotating left.) The speakers are connected with bluetooth, and the distributor label AltecLansing is “tattooed” on the cheeks.

Any votes on what song would be best played on these?

Ball Pit Ball Chair

Posted: 26 Oct 2009 12:01 AM PDT

Is that… yes! It is a ball pit from one of those children’s theme restaurants like Chuck-E-Cheese … made into a chair! Wonderous. It’s called the “Gumball,” designed by Alberto Brogliato, and made of a soft rotomoulded plastic. Inside the plastic outer is a thousand small plastic colorful balls. I should hope that every chair has exactly one thousand balls in it. Yes. Precisely.

The rotomoulded plastic cover is semi-transparent so you can see all the balls you want, and you can make the most of your interior design skills by getting the color or color combination of balls you want.

Furthermore, the Gumball is made in matte color, laquered or, if you’re lucky, with a light inside.

Signs In The Dark

The idea of a lit-up handrail for public places is not quite new, but adding the features of an e-paper display with laser-engraving tech is unique. The Light Handrail is just this concept, with e-paper displays lined at appropriate distances. Usage scenario includes doling out advertisements, mock-up scenes or useful information like how to find the nearest exit during an emergency. In auditoriums and dimly-lit places, this hand-rail can be an added attraction, like the exotic flower one greeting the visitors!
